3D Games

3D games are grouped by how they look and feel rather than by what you do in them. What they have in common is depth: a camera you move through space, models instead of sprites, and the small navigational work of judging distance on a flat screen. The category mixes driving, shooting, parkour, puzzle and simulation titles that all happen to render in three dimensions.

Modern browsers handle this well — these run on WebGL, the same technology behind most in-browser 3D, with no plugin and no install. They are heavier than a 2D game, though. If one stutters, closing other tabs is the fix that works most often, followed by making sure hardware acceleration is switched on in your browser settings.

A mouse helps a lot here, since looking around and aiming are usually bound to it. Most of these are playable on a phone, but a laptop or desktop is where they were designed to be played.
